Match EQ® is our matching algorithm that measures emotional intelligence fit between patients and dentists. When you tell us what's holding you back: anxiety, embarrassment, cost worries, needing clear communication, finding time, wanting to feel comfortable - Match EQ® analyses which dentists are best equipped to handle your specific situation. Each dentist gets a fit score based on how well they match YOUR needs. The higher the score, the better the fit.
Not yet. We're currently working with private practices only. We'd love to include NHS dentists in the future, for now, we're focusing on private dentists who can offer the flexibility and specialized care that Match EQ® identifies. If you need NHS care, NHS Choices (nhs.uk) is still the best place to search for availability
Once you see your matched dentists: 1. Click on any dentist profile to see more details 2. Review their emotional intelligence strengths, practice photos, and approach 3. Click "Book Appointment" 4. Choose your preferred date/time 5. Confirm your booking You'll receive a confirmation email, and the practice will contact you to confirm details. Simple as that.
Yes. You can manage your appointments by contacting Floss or your practice directly. Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel—it helps the practice manage their schedule and helps other patients get appointments.
We partner with dental practices that meet our quality standards and are willing to share detailed information about their approach, specialisations, and practice environment. Every dentist on Floss: - Is fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) - Has provided detailed information about their approach to patient care - Has been assessed on emotional intelligence factors - Is committed to transparent communication with patients We're selective. We'd rather have fewer dentists who are genuinely great matches than hundreds of profiles with no meaningful differentiation.
Every dentist profile shows their strengths in areas that actually matter to patients, we have analysed and assessed every dentist against our 6 Emotional Intelligence pillars. These aren't random—they're based on how the dentist scores on Match EQ® factors and feedback from their practice.
You're not locked in. The match is a recommendation, not a commitment. If you see your list matched dentists and none feel right—you can: - Adjust your filters (specialisation, gender, availability) - See more details on each dentist before booking - Try answering the questions differently to see different results After your appointment, if it wasn't a good fit, let us know. Yes! We're starting in South East London (our community), but we have plans to expand across London and eventually the UK.
